Get Ready...

... for the show! I can't tell you how excited we are for Friday's exhibit!!! Monte's new work is vibrant and intriguing and it is so interesting to hear him share the "story" behind each painting. Our shows are always fun, but I think this one will be extra special.

J and I picked out a few interesting bottles of vino from Tim's, food is being deliverd early afternoon, and the hanging is nearly complete. It's going to be a wonderful event!

2 Weeks til Monte!

We are getting so excited about the show on May 1st featuring Monte Olinger! Monte has presented us with some incredible work recently, and it's been a treat to hear him talk about the inspiration behind the paintings. Each piece has a purpose, a story. He'll be sharing those stories with us at the reception- make sure to be there. I know you'll be inspired as well.

Framing goes GREEN!

It’s official. The framing industry is jumping on the green train. Forward thinking companies like Larson-Juhl and Nurre Caxton are now offering “earth-friendly mouldings”. Larson has just introduced the Biltmore collection, inspired by the Asheville, NC homes’ intricate, antique frames. The collection is the industry’s first Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certified frame moulding.

Following suit, Nurre Caxton has introduced EcoCare, a moulding line produced with wood from managed forests- “For every tree we use, we replace one”. Excellent! In addition, moulding colors are achieved with organic, water-based stains. No oils or chemical solvents are used.

All the Pretty Horses

My favorite sculptor has just completed some amazing new works. You have undoubtedly seen his horses in our windows, and after several years of showing his work, I still maintain that he is one of the most talented artists we have the privilege of working with. How can someone take wood shards, copper wire, and twine and construct these horses that come alive with such movement and emotion? It’s a mystery.
